Weed Wide Enough…

weedwideenough

I know a bank where the wild thyme blows
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows
Quite overcanopied with luscious woodbine
With sweet musk roses, and with eglantine.
There sleeps Titania sometime of the night
Lulled in these flowers with dances and delight,
And there the snake sheds her enamelled skin,
Weed wide enough to wrap a fairy in.

-A Midsummer’s Night Dream by William Shakespeare

Another acrylic painting (inspired by Jane Davies great tutorial DVD).

I have no idea why it reminds me of A Midsummer’s Night Dream – probably because I am obsessed with the words and the very idea of it all – maybe the green color…??  Not sure, but its been named already and there’s no way to change it now.  It will forever be known as the painting, ‘Weed Wide Enough’.

  1. Loving your paintings. Have you tried the techniques in wax? Seems they would translate well.
