“I want to write something
so simply
about love
or about pain
that even
as you are reading
you feel it
and as you read
you keep feeling it
and though it be my story
it will be common,
though it be singular
it will be known to you
so that by the end
you will think—
no, you will realize—
that it was all the while
yourself arranging the words,
that it was all the time
words that you yourself,
out of your heart
had been saying.”

Beautiful work. Well said/written. I’ve just taken the opposite approach; leaving digital and returning to the canvas. Very exhilarating and therapeutic – for me, but I have no barriers or expectations so it’s all good. The first time someone asked me “can you paint one for me like that?” And requested certain colors … I found it too confining and stressful.
Love your IG post!
Thank you so much! I think it really just matters where we are in our ‘process’. I know I will be back in the studio before long – I enjoy the tactile qualities too much – but this has been filling a void that I wasn’t even aware of. I’ve actually been thinking (since writing the post) though, about how I can combine the two! 🙂
Thanks so much for your thoughts!!
