Something old, Something blue

Images of an old potting shed captured with my cell phone (and the roidizer app) while visiting a garden full of blooming flowers this weekend.

There’s just something about this combination of color and texture that I’m drawn to.  The radiant reds and yellows of the flowers that were blooming were beautiful but they couldn’t hold my attention for more than just a minute or so.

Isn’t it interesting…the things we are drawn to.

Images of Non Importance

What do the images we make say about us?

What do you think it is that draws us to them in the first place?

I’ve often wondered about that.

All I know is…there are some things I simply HAVE to photograph.

I don’t suppose I have to explain it or figure it out…but it has always been a curiosity.

Just wondering.

A Light Exists in Spring

A Light Exists in Spring

-Emily Dickinson

A light exists in spring
Not present on the year
At any other period,
When March is scarcely here.

A color stands abroad
On solitary hills
That science cannot overtake,
But human nature feels.

It waits upon the lawn;
It shows the furthest tree
Upon the furthest slope we know;
It almost speaks to me.

Then, as horizons step,
Or noons report away,
Without the formula of sound,
It passes, and we stay:

A quality of loss
Affecting our content,
As trade had suddenly encroached
Upon a sacrament.

Be inspired by Spring this year!

Santa Fe Blues

I love wandering around neighborhoods of other cities and towns.

It seems like everything is just more colorful, more eclectic, more interesting, more fun than anything you can find at home.  I’m sure that is because we tend to ‘not see’ things at home because we’re on auto pilot most of the time.  We don’t expect to see anything out of the ordinary – so we usually don’t.

At least that’s how I think it is.

Think about how many times we’re driving somewhere and we get there but don’t remember much about the drive itself.  We wonder how we managed to get there safely…did we even stop at that last red light??!!

These images are all from a very colorful, very eclectic, very interesting and fun neighborhood in Santa Fe.

Can you tell I have a ‘thing’ for blue?

where will you go, what will you do?

Your weekend is brand new.

Oh, the places you’ll go

the people you’ll see

the things that you’ll do…
